George S. King

Seaton, Illinois Graveside services for George S. King, 83, of Seaton, will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the New Boston Cemetery, with The Rev. Robert Moede officiating. Military Honors will be given by VFW Post #1571, Aledo. Memorials may be made to the George King Memorial Fund. Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo is in charge of arrangements. George died Thursday, September 12, 2002 at his home in Seaton. George was born January 30, 1919 in Unionville, Missouri to Jim and Maggie Ellen (Stevens) King. He married Anna Rose Johnston on September 17, 1951 in Muscatine, Iowa. She preceded him in death on November 13, 1992. George retired in 1978 from International Harvester, the Farmall Plant, after 26 years of employment. He served in the United States Army 41st Armored Infantry during World War II. He was an amateur radio operator known as 'WA9TNG'. Survivors include his children and their spouses: Sharon and John Watson of Silvis; Janet and Larry Walker of Central City, Minnesota; George Dennis and Joyce King of New Boston; Judy and Larry Granell of Moline and Joy King of Seaton; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a brother, John King and a grandson, James Bryant Watson. Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at www.TrimbleFuneralHomes.com.
