George L. ''Vern'' Roadenizer

January 21, 1933 — March 5, 2002

Rock Island, Illinois George L. "Vern" Roadenizer, 69 of Rock Island, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport. Services are 2:00 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation is Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal, where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Memorials may be made to Muscular Distrophy Association. George LaVerne Roadenizer was born January 21, 1933, in Joliet, Illinois the son of George and Hazel Roadenizer. He married Carole Taylor on August 11, 1957, in Rock Island. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Vern was currently employed as a quality control inspector at Bowe Machine Company, Bettendorf. He had been previously employed at IH Farmall Works, Rock Island, for 10 years, and at Hydraxtor Company, Moline, for 17 years. Vern is survived by his wife Carole; four children and their spouses and families, Theresa Roadenizer and her children, Ryan and Frederick, of Rock Island, Robbin and Charles Heggen and their children, Charles, Jason and Tiffanie, of Rock Island, Denise Rutherford and her children, JoLean and James, of Rock Island, and Russell and Carole Roadenizer and their children, Christina and Dale, of Moline; and four great-grandchildren, Lamon, Devin, Emilie and Charles IV.
