George A. Heitt

George A. Heitt, 69, of Clinton, Iowa, died Friday, December 30, 2016, ManorCare Health Services, Davenport, Iowa.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of the Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the Skyline Center or L'Arche, both in Clinton.

George was born January 13, 1947, in Clinton, the son of George and Ellen (Peters) Heitt. He worked for several years at the Skyline Center. He enjoyed music, and was a highly medaled Special Olympics athlete.

He is survived by two brothers, Don Heitt of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Richard Heitt of Homosassa Springs, Florida; six nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Heitt, Amy Malach, Sarah Weber, and Clayton, Cale, and Cole Heitt, and their families; and Robin Heitt of Homosassa, who was like a sister to George. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Barbara Heitt.

The family would like to give special thanks to everyone at Skyline Center and L'Arche that helped George have a better life.
