Gayleen E. Walker, 86, of Silvis, Illinois, died Thursday, January 27, 2022, at home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Rev. Gabe Wanck officiating. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday. Burial is in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline.
The former Gayleen Elizabeth Entrikin was born October 13, 1935, in Jacksonville, Illinois, the daughter of Gayle and Eva Mae (Sandford) Entrikin. She married Thomas Emery Walker on July 9, 1955, in East Moline.
Gayleen worked at Cattleman’s Meat Market in East Moline (owned by her husband and Don Berthoud) from 1983 until 1998. She owned and operated Tank Prepared Foods in Moline with her husband from 1998 until retiring in 2012. After retirement, she taught exercise classed at the YMCA.
She attended Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline, and enjoyed painting pictures. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Gayleen, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gayleen is survived by her beloved husband of over 66 years, Tom; three children, Timothy Walker of East Moline, Kimberly (Daniel) Haskins of East Moline, and Thomas (Mariza) Walker of Fredericksburg, Virginia; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Entrikin of Florida; and many special friends, including Larry Simoens, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Kelley, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Anseeuw. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Richard and Neil Entrikin.
