Gary Moore, 67, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Monday, January 14, 2013, in Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport, Iowa.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, with The Reverend Tim Snart officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 to 10:30 Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to Quad Cities Greyhound Adoption. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, is in charge of arrangements.

Gary Michael Moore was born January 2, 1946, in Niagara Falls, New York, the son of Norman W. and Shirley Maxon Moore. He graduated from Niagara County Community College, and served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Connie Morse on June 23, 1968, in Ransomville, New York. He was employed by General Motors for 37 years, retiring as Methods Operator at the Delphi Plant in Lockport, New York, in 2000. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, and UAW Local 686. He loved sports, especially the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres, music, especially native American flutes, and fishing.

Gary is survived by his wife, Connie; three sons and their wives, Scott and Rebecca Moore of Silvis, Illinois, Mark and Karen Moore of Geneseo, Illinois, and Jason Moore of Fort Wayne, Indiana; three grandchildren, Gracie, Jeremy, and Kashanti; his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Dave Traina of Buffalo, New York; and his dog Charlie, whom he called his fourth son.
