Gary E. Meier, 59, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, January 30, 2006, in Parkview Terrace Health Care Center, East Moline.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Graveside services are 3 p.m. Thursday at Graymount Cemetery, Coatsburg, Illinois.
Gary was born July 12, 1946, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Harold and Rose (Haley) Meier. He married Marcia Hayes in 1967, in Green Rock, Illinois. He graduated from Moline High School in 1964, and served in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was a machinist at the Rock Island Arsenal for 28 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline, and enjoyed golf and camping.
Gary is survived by his wife, Marcia; his father, Harold Meier of Moline; two children and their spouses, Gary Allan and Paula Meier of Coal Valley, Illinois, and Penny and Eric Nelson of Geneseo, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Shelby, Colby, and Logan Meier, and Chantel, Mike, and Shannon Nelson; and a brother, Joe Allan Meier of Moline.
