Gary E. Chouinard

Gary Chouinard, 87, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, April 11, 2024, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Trimble Funeral Home, 1700 1^st Street, Coal Valley, Illinois. Visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m., and burial will follow services at Coal Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. 

Gary Ernest Chouinard was born June 12, 1936, to Alfred and Clara (Barthel) Chouinard, in Anoka, Minnesota. He married the love of his life, Jeanette Robeck, on September 7, 1957, in St. Michael, Minnesota. Gary worked as a supervisor in the test division at John Deere Harvester and retired in 1987. 

He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley, Illinois. He enjoyed flying airplanes, riding motorcycles, traveling in his motorhome, and above all else spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Gary is survived by his wife, Jeanette Chouinard; his children, Greg (Karin) Chouinard, Jeff (Mary Ann) Chouinard, Mark Chouinard, Scott (Claire) Chouinard, and Shelley Chouinard; his 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Elwin (Betty) Chouinard, Mary Ann (Terry) Perman, Diane (Alan) Gillan, Sharon (Les) Johnson, Michael (Patty) Chouinard, Paul Chouinard, and Donna Voght. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Clara Chouinard; and his brother, Francis Chouinard.
