Wayne G. Olson, 84, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, October 16, 2008, in Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, after an extended illness.
Private graveside services will take place at Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is assisting the family.
Wayne George Olson was born December 24, 1923, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of George and Clara Olson. Wayne married Charlotte Reed on June 29, 1946, in Monmouth, Illinois. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline for over 40 years, retiring in 1983.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 62 years, Charlotte, many nieces and nephews, and many fine friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Olson, and sisters, Dorothy Haack and Mildred Kindelsperger.
