Virginia G. Mitchel, 93, of East Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009, in Aspen Rehab and Health Care, Silvis, Illinois.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with Fr. Donald L. Levitt officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the services.
The former Virginia Genevieve Otto was born July 9, 1916, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Christian H. and Elizabeth Irvine Otto. She married James R. Mitchel on December 19, 1959, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She attended Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, and was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Bridge.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Jim; a daughter, Judith Moore of Moline; six grandchildren and their spouses, Russell and Karen Moore of Charlotte, North Carolina, Paula Moore of Iowa City, Iowa, Keith and Lisa Moore of Murrieta, California, Karin Moore of Iowa City, David and Lisa Moore of North Liberty, Iowa, and Daniel Moore of Boone, North Carolina; and three great-grandchildren, Allison, Brendan and Caroline Moore. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
