Moline, Illinois Freda M. Martin, 90, of Moline, died Thursday, February 21, 2002, at Grandview Terrace, Davenport. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Entombment is in Moline Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Activities Fund at Grandview Terrace or the Organ/Restoration Fund at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Island. The former Freda Mary Schaefer was born May 31, 1911, in Temvick, North Dakota, the daughter of Jacob and Katherine (Wallhof) Schaefer. She married Donald A. Martin on October 26, 1957, in Clinton, Iowa. He died February 26, 1998. She operated a beauty shop for many years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Island, where she was involved with the Ageless Group and the Quilters Group; Moline Chapter #258, Order of Eastern Star, where she was a Past Star Point, Past Adah, and Past Marshal; Zal Caldron; and the Thirty-third Degree Wives Club of Scottish Rite, Moline. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, and antiques. Freda is survived by five sisters, Bertha Rickertsen of Dewitt, Iowa, Emily Weber of Austin, Texas, Esther Hunn and Martha Suppan of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Katherine Cousins of Clinton, Iowa; two brothers, Vern Schaefer and Eddie Schaefer of Clinton, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews, including Connie Avey of Rock Island.
