Fred E. Jacobs

Fred E. Jacobs, 86, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Monday, December 1, 2014, in UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.

There will be no services. Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley, is assisting the family.

Fred Eugene Jacobs was born December 7, 1927, in New Boston, Illinois, to Sye and Ruby Gage Jacobs. He married Joyce Fox on December 16, 1957, and they were later divorced. He was a machinist at John Deere Plow Planter in Moline for 30 years. He enjoyed his horse, working around the house, and being on his tractor.

Fred is survived by four sons and a daughter-in-law, David E. Jacobs of Coal Valley, Dennis L. and Susan Jacobs of Rock Island, Donald E. Jacobs of Colona, Illinois, and Daniel W. Jacobs of Coal Valley; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Pouder of Coal Valley. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Timm, and brothers, Arthur and Jack Jacobs.
