Frank Slock, 85, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, in St. Anthony Care Center, Rock Island.
Graveside services will be at a later date at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan, Illinois. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is assisting the family.
Frank Raymond Slock was born October 12, 1928, in Kewanee, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Frebonia (VanWynsburg) Slock. He served in the United States Navy after World War II.
He was a delivery driver for several local companies, retiring from Con-Way Freight around 1996.
Frank was a member of the Sheffield American Legion, the 40 & 8 Club in Annawan, Illinois, and the Catfish Jazz Society. He enjoyed all kinds of animals, donating to several Wildlife organizations and Humane Societies.
He is survived by a brother, Richard Slock of Manlius, Illinois, a sister, Elaine Heath of Valley, Alabama, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Locke.
