Frank E. "Bud" Drake

Frank E. "Bud" Drake, Jr., 80, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, January 25, 2017, in his home.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with Fr. Don Levitt officiating. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Visitation is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans.

Frank was born March 24, 1936, in Moline, to Frank Ellis and Alice Josephine Miller Drake. He served in the U. S. Navy and married Judy McKee on October 11, 1958, in Kahoka, Missouri. He was employed by A T & T for 32 years, retiring as a long distance technician in 1998. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. He was a Master Gardener, a ham radio operator, and Scoutmaster. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, loved the Colorado Rocky Mountains, and enjoyed fishing, reading, and scuba diving.

Bud is survived by his wife, Judy; four sons, Scott A. Drake and his partner Micheal Ward of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey S. and Martha Drake and Mark and Sarah Drake all of Rock Island, and David M. and Tammy Drake of Moline; eight grandchildren, Jamie and Devin Drake, Onna, Caleb, and Aubrey Drake, Justene Drake and her husband David Hamilton, and Joshua and Austin Drake; two step-grandchildren, Shelby and Emily Leemans; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Justin, and Boston Drake and McKinnon Ray; and sisters, Karen Zalewski of Roseville, Minnesota, and Patricia Baltisberger of Cambridge, Illinois.
