Frances I. Young

Moline, Illinois Services for Frances I. Young, 71, of Moline, Illinois, are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor, Iowa. Visitation was Monday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt, Iowa. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is in charge of local arrangements. Mrs. Young died September 7, 2001, at the Heartland Health Care Center in Moline. The former Frances Ilene Vorrie, was born September 28, 1929, in Norway Township near Thor, Iowa, the daughter of John and Ida (Sheldon) Vorrie. She attended Country schools and graduated from Eagle Grove High School. She attended Waldorf College in Forest City where she attained her Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Following her education she taught elementary school in Rolfe, Iowa. She married James E. Young on December 28, 1952 at Thor. The couple made their home in Ames before moving to Moline in 1954. Mrs. Young was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Moline and enjoyed music and calligraphy. Mrs. Young is survived by her husband James of Moline; a son and daughter-in-law, James S. and Janice Young of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin; brothers and sister-in-laws, C. Lorelle and Betty Vorrie and Norbert and Betty Vorrie, all of Fort Dodge, Iowa; and a sister-in-law Isabel Vorrie of Green Valley, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Douglas Dean Young, and a brother, Everett Vorrie.
