Floyd E. "Bud" Haney, 93, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, November 10, 2014, in his residence at Amber Ridge Assisted Living in Moline.
Services are 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with Rev. Tim Bowman officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Thurssday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
Floyd Elton Haney was born February 26, 1921, in Eddyville, Illinois, to Thomas and Lillie (Stone) Haney. He served in the U. S. Army and earned four bronze battle stars for campaigns in Northern France, the Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He married Lillie Evadeen Porter on April 2, 1946, in Henderson, Kentucky, and she died June 25, 2007. He was employed by McLaughlin Body Company, Moline, for 25 years, retiring as inspector in 1983. He was a member of Moline Gospel Temple, and loved gardening.
Bud is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Robert Stawicki of Moline; his granddaughter and her husband, Kay and Kenneth Dennis of Rock Island; great-granddaughters, Amanda (Michael) Kudulis, Alexandria (Jake) Moore, and Anna (Dennis) Wermuth; two great-great granddaughters, Aviana and Millie; and a brother, John Haney of Harrisburg, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four sisters, and three brothers.
