Fay C. Shattuck, 92, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Max York officiating. Private Burial is in Clover Chapel Cemetery, Woodhull, Illinois. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clover Chapel Cemetery.

Fay Charles Shattuck was born June 18, 1921, in Woodhull, Illinois, the son of Fay Allen and Lillie Mabel (Nelson) Shattuck. He married Martha M. Johnson on November 27, 1942, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

He worked in the experimental department for John Deere Harvester Works for 20 years, retiring in October of 1982. Prior to that, he worked on his family farm for 20 years.

Fay was a lifelong member of Clover Chapel Methodist Church in Woodhull. Following its closing, he attended Orion Christian Church. He enjoyed working with cars, especially Shelby's, and was a member of the Shelby American Auto Club.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Martha; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Arnold-Lien and James Lien of Morgan Hill, California, and Marilyn and Robert Juranich of Sitka, Alaska; a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Paula Shattuck of Moline; grandchildren, Baron and Carla Arnold, Heather Arnold-Lilly and Matthew Lilly, Kimberly and James Walton, Kelly Juranich and her fiancé Timothy Carnicle, Matt and Heather Shattuck, and Scott and Molly Shattuck; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
