F. Willard "Bill" Carlson, 89, of Moline, died Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Heartland Healthcare Center in Moline.
Private Services will be held Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline with Reverend John Leaf of Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be given to either the Faith Lutheran Church Building Fund or to the Moline Salvation Army.
Frank Willard Carlson was born May 24, 1916, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Frank Oscar and Gertrude Olivia (Nelson) Carlson. He graduated from Moline High School, and served in the United States navy during World War II. Bill married the former Marjorie Florence Hansen on October 28, 1944, in Moline. Mr. Carlson was employed as a manager of manufacturing at the Rock Island Arsenal for over 32 years.
Bill was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church, and served on the steering committee, he was a member of Masonic lodge 1014, the Viking club, and Thor Lodge, all in Moline.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Moline, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Daniel and Carla Carlson of Kingwood, Texas, David Carlson of Moline, and two grandchildren, Christine Carlson of Dallas, TX, and David Carlson of Austin, TX. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Wallace, Paul, and Edward, and a sister, Eunice.
