Elsie McKee, 95, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, February 10, 2011, in Hope Creek Care Center, Moline.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Kenn Shedenhelm of South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island, officiating. Visitation is 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Estates, Moline. Memorials may be made to Christian Friendliness/Youth Hope.
The former Elsie Fern Vogler was born March 22, 1915, in Adrian, Missouri, the daughter of Clarence and Ocie Dell (Mason) Vogler. She married Harry McKee on April 4, 1936, in Macomb, Illinois. He died on June 9, 1975.
Elsie worked for Hart, Schaffner, and Marx Clothing for over 25 years, retiring in 1979. She was a former member of First United Methodist Church, Moline. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and talking on the phone and spending time with her family.
Elsie is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Virginia McKee of Rock Island; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Bud Drake of Moline; seven grandchildren; five step- grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilbur and CeCe Vogler of Coyne Center, Illinois, and Leslie and Alice Vogler of Macomb; sisters and a brother-in-law, Wilma Erdmann of Coal Valley, Illinois, and Esther and Don Sturm of Wonder Lake, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, two granddaughters, four brothers, and four sisters.
