William F. Langley, 74, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, in St, Joseph Hospital, St. Charles, Missouri.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Church Quad Cities, Colona, Illinois, with The Reverend Russ Frye officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church, where he was a member.
William Franklin Langley was born May 11, 1934, in Bloomington, Indiana, the son of William M. and Sally Jane (Webb) Langley. He married Marilyn Voss on December 27, 1955, in Alpha, Illinois. He served in the U. S. Air Force active duty and reserves for eight years. He was quality control inspector for American Air Filter retiring when they closed in 1985.
He played high school football for the Riverdale Rams, and was a Boy Scout Leader for 10 years, He enjoyed bowling, fishing, traveling, and crafts.
Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn; two children, Scott Langley and his wife Paula of Silvis, and Cheryl Langley of Moline; step-grandchildren, Suzanne and James Murphy and Melissa Lilly; four step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Marge Buzard of Moline, and brothers, Floyd Langley of Moline, and Glen Langley of Bloomington, Indiana. He was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
