Silvis, Illinois Services for Evys M. Starr, 83, of Silvis, Illinois, are 6 p.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church, Moline. The Reverend Thomas Peterson will officiate. Private burial is Tuesday in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the church. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Starr died Friday, January 18, 2002, in Heartland Health Care Center, Moline. The former Evys Margaret Johnson was born March 6, 1918, in Oakland, Nebraska, the daughter of Carl and Ingrid Skoog Johnson. She married Wallace A. Warren Jr. on May 9, 1938, in Moline. He died in 1975. She married William H. Starr on May 23, 1987, in Bettendorf, Iowa. She lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from 1948 to 1979. She was a bookkeeper for the former Golden Electric Company, Bettendorf, for several years, retiring in 1988. She previously worked at Gross Kelly Wholesale Grocers in Albuquerque. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Moline, and Illini Hospital Auxiliary, where she did volunteer work. She did Braille transcription in Albuquerque and the Quad Cities. She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed traveling, reading and knitting. Evys is survived by her husband, William; a son, Wallace A. Warren III and his wife Mary of Bettendorf, Iowa; three grandchildren, Wallace Anthony Warren and his wife Cindy of Frederick, Colorado, Jeffery Christman and his wife Diana of Houston, Texas, and William Christman and his wife Michelle of Moline; four great-grandchildren; three step-daughters, Crystal Petrulis and her husband Walter of Palos Hills, Illinois, Sharon Scanlon of Lansing, Illinois, and Jo Ann Cafferata and her husband Michael of Chicago; six step-grandchildren; and two sisters and their husbands, Mae and Andy Anderson of Moline, and Effie and Britt Monaghan of Appleton, Wisconsin.
