Evelyn M. Collins

Evelyn M. Collins, 86, of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, June 18, 2016, at home.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Private services and burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Foundation of America.

The former Evelyn Marie Belky was born July 10, 1929, in Sparta, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert and Barbara (Schmidt) Belky. She married John R. Collins on November 20, 1960, in Evanston, Illinois. He died June 12, 2009.

Evie was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Colona. She and her husband owned and raced horses. She was a member of the Christian Harness Horsemen's Association and the U.S. Trotting Association.

Evelyn is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Collins-Morton and Robert Morton of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and two step-grandsons, Aaron Morton and his wife, Lindsey, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Evan Morton of Toms River, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, William Belky, and a sister, Loretta Schafman.
