Evelyn Johnson

Evelyn V. Johnson, 87, of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, September 28, 2013, at St. Anthony's Care Center, Rock Island, Illinois.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Richard Barriger officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Peoria, Illinois. Visitation is one hour before the services, Memorials may be made to In Touch Adult Day Care.

The former Evelyn Virginia Hoobler was born December 26, 1925, in Gridley, Illinois, the daughter of Clark and Lena Lamb Hoobler. She married Gene L. Hannon on June 26, 1945, in Peoria, Illinois. He died May 6, 1969. She married Leo Frederick Johnson on March 27, 1970, in Moline. He died October23, 2001. She was a seamstress at the former Seaford Clothing Company, Rock Island, for 25 years, retiring in 1988. She attended In Touch Adult Day Care, and enjoyed bowling, sewing, find-a-word puzzles, traveling and roses.

Evelyn is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Leslee and Daniel Collins of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Deborah and Tom Waters of Coal Valley, Illinois; four grandchildren and their spouses, Sean and Kimberly Collins, Patrick and Jessie Collins, Genevieve Waters, and Wendy and Ramon Jr. Navarro; four great-grandchildren; three step-daughters; and three step-sons. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her step-father of 60 years, Ralph Lane; a sister, Joan Parrott; and brothers Uhl and Eugene Hoobler.
