Evadeen Haney, 78, of Moline, Illinois, went home to the Lord on Monday, June 25, 2007, in Rosewood Care Center, Moline.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with the Reverend Tim Bowman officiating. Visitation is 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the Billy Graham Association.
The former Lillie Evadeen Porter was born December 5, 1928, in Junction, Illinois, the daughter of Hazel (Tucker) and Charles Porter. Hazel passed away when Evadeen was three years old, and she was raised by her father and step-mother, Mary Porter. Evadeen married Floyd Haney on April 2, 1946, in Henderson, Kentucky.
Evadeen worked as a grill cook and supervisor at the Rock Island Arsenal cafeteria for 32 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Moline Gospel Temple for over 45 years, and taught Sunday school for over 40 years. She enjoyed cooking, canning, and sewing.
Evadeen is survived by her husband of 61 years, Floyd, a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Robert Stawicki of Moline, a granddaughter and her husband, Kay and Kenneth Dennis of Rock Island, Illinois, great-granddaughters, Amanda, Alexandria, and Anna Wermuth, and nine brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
