Eugene C. Salmon, 92, of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, August 22, 2015, in UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, and private graveside services and burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospitals. Trimble Funeral Home is serving the family.

Eugene Claude Salmon was born October 9, 1922, in Oxly, Missouri, to Dewey Claude and Seattle Fern (Ballard) Salmon. He served in combat in the Rhineland with the U. S. Army in WW II. He married Ruby June Burkhiser on December 19, 1942, in Kahoka, Missouri. She died March 28, 1996. He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for 32 years, retiring as Procurement Contract Specialist in 1975. He was a member of Doric Masonic Lodge #319, AF & AM, and an avid golfer.

Eugene is survived by three children and their spouses, Victoria and Mike Welch of Rock Island, Linda and Steven Musich of Campbell, California, and Robert and Rosalie Salmon of Moline; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter Pamela Murray; and siblings, Lilliette and Walter Lee Salmon.
