Ethel C. Ford, 86, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006, in Riverpark Health Care Center, Rock Island.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with The Reverend Janice Griffith officiating. Burial is in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is one hour before the services.
The former Ethel Mae Chelar was born August 30, 1919, near Albia, Iowa, the daughter of Matt and Nellie (Miller) Chelar. She married Lloyd B. Ford on February 14, 1942, in Ottumwa, Iowa. He died December 9, 1990. She and her husband owned and operated the former Manhattan Café in downtown Moline for 20 years. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline, and enjoyed the outdoors, yardwork and gardening.
Ethel is survived by a sister, Ruth Rasko of Indianola, Iowa; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Dortha Chelar of Albia, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Raymond Chelar.
