Elizabeth M. "Chubby" Ramos-Garcia

Elizabeth M. "Chubby" Ramos-Garcia, 53, of East Moline, Illinois, died unexpectedly on January 14, 2019, in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Hampton Township Cemetery. Visitation is 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe. Friends are invited to use the lower level entrance. Memorials may be made to the family.

The former Elizabeth Maria Ramos was born May 18, 1965, in Florida, the daughter of Efrain L. Ramos and Guadalupe Medina. She graduated from United Township High School and went on to become a substitute teacher.

Elizabeth enjoyed reading, especially the bible, and was active in church, where she taught Sunday School. She was a free spirit that loved her family.

She is survived by three children, Sanjuana Valtierra of Gulfport, Mississippi, Veronica (Joe) Lopez of Nebraska City, Nebraska, and Adam Valtierra of Des Moines, Iowa; nine grandchildren; her father, Efrain Ramos, Sr. of East Moline; siblings, Efrain (Hilda) Ramos, Jr., Dionicio (Andrea) Ramos), Beatrice (Gerardo) Villa, Guadalupe (Brian) Bloomfield, Bresa Ramos, Earl Ramos, and Michael Ramos; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and close friends, including Maria Miller and Sue Gutierrez. She was preceded in death by her mother, Guadalupe Medina, and a son, Nestor.
