Elijah Alexzander Salazar-Sutton

Elijah Alexzander Salazar-Sutton, beloved 6-year old son of Yaneth Salazar and Shane Sutton passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with Father Antonio Dittmer officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.

Elijah was born July 18, 2017, in Peoria, the son of Yaneth Salazar and Shane Charles Sutton. He just finished 1st grade at Logan Elementary in Moline. 

Elijah was a vibrant and creative child who loved engaging in arts and crafts, particularly painting and coloring. He had a knack for creating things and took great joy in expressing himself through his artwork. A budding gamer, Elijah enjoyed playing online with his friends and cousins. He relished outdoor activities, especially being in the water, and had a delightful collection of plushies. Above all, Elijah's happiest moments were those spent with his family.

He loved animals of all kinds (even imitating them) and treasured his time playing with Loki. He was always making people smile and will be remembered for his laughing, dancing, and even shaking his booty.

Elijah's joyful spirit and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving parents, Yaneth Salazar of Moline, and Shane Sutton of Davenport; his beloved brother, David Rosales; his grandmothers, Linda (Ben) Sluiter and Maria (Froylon Vieyra) Alcala; aunts and uncles, José (Thalia Gomez) Salazar, Sr., Angel Salazar, Alejandro (Jessica) Salazar, and Diego Salazar; and his cousins who were also Elijah’s best friends, Isaac Salazar, José Salazar, Jr., Adalis Salazar, Malia Salazar, Camilla Salazar, Cathalina Salazar, and Jaxson Salazar.
