Eleanore Genevieve Turnbull

Eleanore G. Turnbull, age 91, died Monday, April 28, 2003 at the home of her daughter in Sherrard, Illinois. A funeral mass will be held Friday, May 2, 2003 at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Maytown, Illinois. Burial will follow the mass in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Eternal Word Television Network or to Marquette Academy in Davenport. The former Eleanore Genevieve Montavon was born January 3, 1912 near Maytown, Illinois the daughter of Henry and Josephine (Faivre) Montavon. Prior to her marriage to Glenn O. Turnbull on September 3, 1937 in Maytown, Eleanore was employed as a Rural School Teacher and later taught at Jordan Elementary School and was a substitute for district 41 both in Rock Island, Illinois. Mrs. Turnbull was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Coal Valley, Illinois, and enjoyed reading and gardening. Survivors include, two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary and Dale Mott of Sherrard, IL, and Catherine LaCaille of Davenport, IA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John Turnbull of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Guy and Jane Turnbull of Barrington, Illinois; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, three sisters, three brothers, and two grandchildren.
