Eleanor F. Parker, 96, formerly of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Monday, June 18, 2012, in Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, Illinois.
Services are 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to the family.
The former Eleanor Frances Kenny was born May 14, 1916, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Lewis Chester and Martha Ann Saterlee Kenny. She married Donald Holmes Parker on June 26, 1935, in Savanna, Illinois. He died June 27, 1992. She baby-sat at Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, Moline, for 20 years, retiring in 2006 at the age of 90. She previously worked at Buddy L Toy Company, Moline Opportunity Center, and Johannes Bus Service. She loved being a care giver to children and the handicapped.
Eleanor is survived by two children and their spouses, Lewis and Peggy Parker of Silvis, Illinois, and Ena and Daniel Garner of Anamosa, Iowa, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Donna Dorr; sons, Dennis and Lynn D. Parker; one sister and four brothers.
