Eleanor E. Jorgesen, 94, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, in her home.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, with Fr. Donald Levitt officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church or Compassus Hospice.
The former Eleanor Elodie Willems was born June 22, 1920,in East Moline, Illinois, to Cesar and Elvera (DeBo) Willems. She married Carl Jorgesen on October 2, 1937, in Clinton, Iowa. He died December 11, 2000. She was a riveter at John Deere during WW II, and later clerked in various stores. She was a charter member of Christ the King Catholic Church, and a former member of Moline Turners and Svithoid Club. She enjoyed sewing, stained glass, photography, and reading.
Eleanor is survived by four children and their spouses, Karen and Michael Reynolds of Moline, Bill Jorgesen of Moline, Brian and Pat Jorgesen of Lakeland, Florida, and Bruce and Shelly Jorgesen of Moline; ten grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Lorraine Noel and Mary Ann Fanning; and a brother, Maurice Willems.
