Eldon N. Collett

Eldon N. Collett, 92, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, February 17, 2014, in Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.

Services are 11:30 a.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the services.

Eldon Nathanial Collett was born January 10, 1922, in Liberal, Kansas, to William and Mary McGuire Collett. He graduated from the University of Michigan, served in the U. S. Navy during WW II, and was a mechanical engineer at the Rock Island Arsenal. He enjoyed reading, traveling, tennis, swimming, and working in his garden.

Eldon is survived by children, Richard Collett and his wife Kelly of Grand Haven, Michigan, Jeanne Thomley of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Mary Brower and her husband Gary of Grandville, Michigan; nine grandchildren; and a special friend, Joyce Wales of Moline. He was precede din death by two brothers and three sisters.
