Elaine M. Louden, 93, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, July 24, 2017, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Presbyterian Church, Moline. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the church. Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline, is entrusted with arrangements.
The former Elaine Margaret Bahnsen was born May 16, 1924, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Alvena (Boysen) Bahnsen. She married Sidney J. Louden on April 29, 1961, in Clinton. He died January 31, 1998.
She worked as a secretary at Clinton Corn Processing Co. for 19 years, retiring in 1961.
She was an active member of First United Presbyterian Church, Moline, where she belonged to the Dorcas Circle and Christian Women's Club. She was a life member and Book of Recognition award recipient for the PTA. She was also a member of the Delta Theta Chi Sorority and served as an election judge for many years. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, as well as spending time with her family.
Elaine is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Robert Grimm of Rock Island; two step-daughters, Janice Campbell of Madison, Indiana, and Judith Axel of Oceanview, Delaware; five grandchildren, Brandon Banks of Davenport, Candace (Chuck) Worcester, Allison (Scott) Rink, Cheri (Steve) Lizzio, and Julie (George Jr.) Solack; 12 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a step-daughter, Jacqueline Collins; and siblings, Janice Bunnell, Paul Bahnsen, and Laverne Peterson.
