Edith L. "Edie" Wright, 80, of Moline, Illinois, long time Moline City Employee, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, in Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
There will be no services. Private burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Brain Injury Association of Iowa. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is in charge of arrangements.
The former Edith Louise Popejoy was born January 15, 1934, in Fairfield, Iowa, to Hartzell and Myrtle Wamsley Popejoy. She had been married to Richard Boyle and Allen Wright. She was employed by the City of Moline in Accounts Payable in the Finance Department for 30 years, retiring in 2003. She previously worked in the Moline Township Assessors Office. She had been a board member of the Brain Injury Association of Iowa.
Edie is survived by five sons, George Boyle and his wife Toni of Colona, Illinois, Ken Boyle of Moline, John Boyle of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, David Boyle of East Moline, and Daniel Boyle and his wife Margaret of Coal Valley, Illinois; three grandchildren, Brianna Huber, Hailey Boyle, and Nathan Boyle; and a sister, Marge Birmingham of Coal Valley. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Gustafson, and a brother, Glenn Wamsley.
