Barbara E. Spees, 85, formerly of East Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, December 9, 2007, in Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, by 1:45 p.m.
The former Barbara Emeline Callaway was born July 16, 1922, in Sheffield, Illinois, the daughter of Laura (Pruitt) and Charles Callaway. She married Clifford C. Spees on March 28, 1942, in Kahoka, Missouri. He died October 30, 2005. When Clifford retired in 1982, the couple moved to Bonita Springs, Florida. Barbara returned to the Quad Cities after his death. She enjoyed reading.
Barbara is survived by a son, Steven Spees of Bonita Springs, Florida; a sister, Helen Robertson of East Moline; a brother, Stanley Callaway of Davenport, Iowa; and eight nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Callaway.
