Ronald E. Riege, 75, of Silvis, Illinois, died Sunday, July 18, 2010, in his home.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, 601 21st Street, Moline. Burial will be Thursday at Big Patch Cemetery, Platteville, Wisconsin. Memorials may be made to the Ronald Riege Memorial Fund.
He was born March 19, 1935, in Platteville, Wisconsin, the son of Delbert and Iola Cliffton Riege. He first married Donna Louthain and later married Linda Jansen. He was a Bus Driver for MetroLink for the past eight years, retiring in 2010. He previously worked at Watts Landfill. He enjoyed small engine repair, anything with a steam engine, fishing and camping.
He is survived by children and their spouses, James and Sue Riege of Platteville, Wisconsin, Pamela and Mike Scott of Dickeyville, Wisconsin, Ronald and Monica Riege of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Cheryl and Dan Funk of Platteville, Michael Riege of Rock Island, Illinois, Jennifer and Edward Murphy of Rock Island, and Jason Riege of Maquoketa, Iowa; 11 grandchildren six great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Kobs of Bloomington, Illinois; and special friends, Karen Hamilton of Coal Valley, Illinois, and Linda Riege of Lost Nation, Iowa.
