Delbert Mullens, 85, of Davenport, Iowa, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, in Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.
Graveside Services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2008, at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island, where he was a member. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is assisting the family.
Delbert Eugene Mullens was born June 27, 1922, in Morgan County, Illinois, the son of William and Olvina (Smith) Mullens. He married Jean Briggs. She died in 1980. He later married Iris Bates.
Delbert worked as a janitor for Black Hawk College and also worked various construction jobs.
He is survived by a son, Gary Mullens of Sherrard, Illinois, a grandson, Brian Mullens of Milan, Illinois, a granddaughter, Katie Mullens of Madison, Wisconsin, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
