Moline, Illinois Services for E. Lorraine McKnight, 86, formerly of South Shore Drive, Moline, are 11 a.m. Monday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Elder Ron Martin, Moline Community of Christ, will officiate. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to the Activities Department at Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo. Mrs. McKnight died Thursday, July 11, 2002, in Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo. The former Ellen Lorraine Spurgeon was born October 8, 1915, in Davis County, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Burt and Lottie (Stites) Spurgeon. She married Leslie Penn McKnight on September 14, 1931, in Memphis, Missouri. He died July 20, 1986. In earlier years, she had worked at Carlquist Open Air Market, Moline, and Naibi Zoo, Coal Valley. She loved all her family, especially her grandchildren, was an excellent cook and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and enjoyed fishing and camping. Lorraine is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Bonnie McKnight of Coal Valley, and Larry and Mary McKnight of Trempealeau, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Lori Barber, Kerry Paarmann, Susan Shafer, Greg McKnight, and Kelly McKnight; seven great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Louis Woll of Milan, Maxine Moulton of Burlington, Iowa, and Patty and Wendel McDanel of Ottumwa, Iowa; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Mary Spurgeon of Osborn, Illinois, and Clinton and Betty Spurgeon of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters, Pauline Brown and Doris Spurgeon, and brothers, Ralph and Max Spurgeon.
