Verna E. Bringolf, 61, of Moline, Illinois, died unexpectedly in her home Sunday, June 6, 2010.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4800 Kennedy Drive, East Moline, Illinois. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Memorials may be made to the Verna E. Bringolf Memorial Fund.
The former Verna Ellen Grogg was born May 4, 1949, in Moline, the daughter of Norman Frank Grogg Sr. and Catherine Ann Giles Grogg. She married Brian F. Bringolf on November 22, 1965, in Moline. She provided home day care in her own home for over 40 years. She was a member of the Mormon Church, and devoted her life to her husband and ?her babies,? her own children and grandchildren as well as those for whom she cared. She worked for the Parents Hotline for several years and was a member of the In Fisherman Club of Rock Island.
Verna is survived by her husband, Brian; two daughters, Beth Bringolf and her partner Whitney Smith of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Bria Bever and her husband Greg of East Moline; four grandchildren, Hialeah and Jacob Bever and Madeline and Brinnan Smith-Bringolf; a sister, Sharon Jackson of Moline; and brothers, Norman Grogg Jr. and his wife Linda of Moline, Trevor Grogg of Rock Island, and John Grogg and his wife Diane of Bigfork, Montana. She was preceded in death by a son, Brian G. Bringolf in infancy, and her parents.
