Douglas G. Kelley, 76, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, December 6, 2012, in Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, Illinois.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to the Quad Cities Diabetes Association.
Douglas Gordon Kelley was born August 28, 1936, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Junior ?J.G.? and Mildred Fowler Kelley. He married Shirley Palmer on January 17, 1959, in Moline. He was employed as a systems analyst at MidAmerican Energy Company for several years, retiring in 1995. He loved old cars, and had lovingly restored his 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk. He was a Chicago Bulls and Illini Basketball fan, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Doug is survived by his wife, Shirley; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and David Sweet of Moline; three grandchildren, Emily Sweet, Jake Fitzwater, and Heather Watkins; a sister, Carol Phillips of Moline; and brothers, Allan Kelley of Rock Island, Illinois, and Kurtis Kelley of Silvis. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Terri Watkins.
