Dorothy M. Anderson

Dorothy M. Anderson, 94, formerly of Coal Valley, Illinois, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, April 17, 2017, at Heartland Health Care Center, Galesburg.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bethany Baptist Church, Moline, with The Reverend Jerry Schrick officiating. Cremation will take at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral home. Private burial will be in Coal Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Audubon Society or Forward Stride.

The former Dorothy Marie Wadman was born November 2, 1922, in Moline, the daughter of Paul and Cleone (Christensen) Wadman. She married Stanley Anderson on October 24, 1942, in Moline. He died May 26, 1989.

She worked at First National Bank of Moline and then Central Bank in Geneseo. She was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially gardening, birdwatching, working on her small farm, and being with her family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by two sons and their wives, Kenneth Anderson and Anne McClard of Portland, Oregon, and Randy and Bonnie Anderson of Alpha, Illinois; grandchildren, Zoe and Soren Anderson, Jacob and Kelly Anderson, Stacey (Brett) Swise, Phillip (Anne) Randall, Denise Randall, and Christina (Chris) Coffey-Hoskins; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, Daniel Eugene, a brother, Paul Wadman, and a special friend, Lee Trainor.
