Dorothy J. Hankins

Dorothy J. Hankins, 81, of Rock Island, Illinois, formerly of Milan, Illinois, died Sunday, August 25, 2019, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The former Dorothy Jean Stapleton was born August 5, 1938, in Peoria, Illinois. She married Nehemiah "Bill" or "Hank" Hankins on October 19, 1957, in Merced, California. He died December 11, 2008.

Dorothy is survived by five children, Timothy Hankins of Rock Island, Brian (Susan) Hankins of Geneseo, Gary Hankins of Cairo, Doreen Hankins of Milan, and Patrick Hankins of Milan; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband and several siblings.
