Dorothy Buckley Strawn

Moline, Illinois Dorothy Buckley Strawn, 97, formerly of Barrington Hills, Illinois, died Wednesday, August 25, 2004, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island, Illinois. Private graveside services will be Saturday in Valley View Cemetery, Edwardsville, Illinois. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is assisting the family. The former Dorothy Eleanor Buckley was born October 26, 1906, in Edwardsville, Illinois to Leland H. and Clara Morgan Buckley. She graduated from Knox College in 1929 and began teaching in Downers Grove, Illinois. She married John B. Strawn on June 7, 1938 in Edwardsville, and he died October 5, 1990. She moved to Heartland Healthcare Center in 1999. She is survived by a brother, Leland Buckley and his wife Barbara of East Moline and nieces and nephews of Orinda, California, Portland, Oregon, Mankato, Minnesota, Rockwall, Texas and Edwardsville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Donald M. and Milton L., both of Edwardsville.
