Dorothy A. Guy, 83, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, October 25, 2015, in Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline, with The Reverend Mark Frazee officiating. Burial is in Rock Island Memorial Park. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the church. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is serving the family.
The former Dorothy Ann Adams was born October 22, 1932, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Horace and Emily (Kersten) Adams. She married James D. Guy, Sr. on February 16, 1952, in Milwaukee. He died November 23, 2013.
Dorothy worked in the legal department for Trinity Medical Center as a risk management assistant for 26 years, retiring in 1999. Previously, she had worked at American Bank in Rock Island.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, scrapbooking, and gardening.
Dorothy is survived by three children and their spouses, Dr. James D. Jr. and his wife, Dr. Joan Laidig, of South Pasadena, California, Sharon and Randy Lynch of Moline, and Ruth and Paul Gorden of Melissa, Texas; six grandchildren, Adam Lynch and his wife Angela, Mark Lynch and his wife Monica, Lisa Taylor and her spouse Heather, Julie Guy, Jonathan Guy, and William Guy; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Horace, Robert, and Owen Adams, and sisters, Charlotte Adams and Lois Retzak.
