Dorothee Hartman

Dorothee M. Hartman, 98, of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, May 18, 2024, at home. 

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

The former Dorothee Marie Karzin was born December 23, 1925, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Nicholas and Dorothy (Schader) Karzin.  

She worked in sales for K-Mart for over 25 years.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles.  She loved playing cards and spending time with her siblings in Lake Okoboji, Iowa.  Above all else, family was the most important thing to Dorothee.

Dorothee is survived by three children, Michael (Phyllis) Hartman of St. Augustine, Florida, Melanie (Peter Uribe) Lemon of Moline, and Bridget (Chad Denney) Bailey of Rock Island, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Don “Bugs” and Johnny Hartman; and eight siblings.

The family would like to give special thanks to everyone at UnityPoint Hospice for the wonderful care given to Dorthee.
