Doris V. Anderson, 82, of Lynnwood, Washington, formerly of Moline and Aledo, Illinois, and Chico, California, died Thursday, August 19, 2004, in Stevens Hospital, Edmonds, Washington.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, Illinois. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, Illinois. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where Rose Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, will conduct services at 4 p.m.. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Research.

The former Doris Viella Walters was born March 23, 1922, in Primghar, Iowa, the daughter of Benjamin and Sayda (Nyberg) Walters. She was married to Merle C. Evoy and later to Mason Ingram. She married Maurice F. Anderson in 1962, in Tiskilwa, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2003. She was a word processor at John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline, for 20 years, retiring in 1982, and previously worked at Sears Roebuck in Moline for 20 years. Doris had been a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Aledo, Faith Lutheran Church, Chico, and Faith Lutheran Church, Moline. She was active in the Order of Eastern Star, and had served as Matron of Rose Chapter, Silvis, Illinois, and Chaplain of Aledo Chapter. In the Illinois Grand Chapter, she was Grand Ruth, Grand Representative to Rhode Island and New York, and Grand Lecturer Emeritus. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliaries in Chico and Aledo and Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed reading and traveling.

Doris is survived by a son, Wayne G. Walters of St. Charles, IL, daughter, Dona Elvis of Lynnwood, WA; four grandchildren, Matthew Elvis of Vacaville, CA, Amy Elvis of South Lake Tahoe, CA, and Emily McEvoy and Ethan Elvis, both of Chico; four great-grandchildren, Cooper, Elle, and Cambria McEvoy and Cole Elvis; a sister, Katherine Williams of Aledo; and a step-son, Larry W. Anderson of Fredericksburg, TX. She was preceded in death by brothers, Harold and Everett Walters; sisters, Hope Isaacs and Evelyn Zwicker; and a step-son, James Anderson.
