Dora Gene Randall

Coal Valley, Illinois Dora Gene Randall, 73, of Coal Valley, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Coal Valley, with Rev. Robert Hagen officiating. Burial is in New Boston Cemetery, where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2001, at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to the church. Mr. Randall was born October 6, 1927, in Blandinsville, IL, the son of Frank and Wilma (Pendell) Randall. He married Marilyn Zielkie in 1950 in LaHarpe, Illinois. He later married Nancy Long in 1976 in Moline; she died January 26, 1997. He served in the U. S. Navy during WW II. He retired from John Deere Plow-Planter Works. Gene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Coal Valley, and Moline American Legion Post #246. He enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo, and watching the Chicago Cubs. He is survived by eight children, Gary Randall of Taylor Ridge, Dr. W. Lewis Randall of Ferguson, NC, Janet Kintz of Colona, Charles Randall of Bettendorf, IA, Robert Randall of Quantico, VA, Kathy Bergheger of Fort Carson, CO, David Randall of Advance, NC, and Theresa Warnock of Coal Valley; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers.
