Donna M. Caldwell, 90, of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Silvercrest Garner Senior Living, Davenport.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 1 at St Johns United Methodist Church, 109 E. 14th Street, Davenport, immediately followed by a reception. Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 1, at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet in the parking lot at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, Illinois, at 12:15 p.m. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.
The former Donna Marlene DeVore was born August 30, 1932, in Corydon, Iowa, the daughter of Leonard and Edra (Mead) DeVore. She married the love of her life, William Dwight Caldwell, and he passed away in 1992. She worked as a teacher for the Davenport Community School District for nearly 70 years. She was also involved in many community organizations such as, American Legion Auxiliary, AGLOW, DARSPA, The Wheel and Canvas Camping Club, multiple square dancing clubs, Sun City Hikers Club, NEA, DEA, ISEA, BETA, Sorority of Kirksville Missouri, and Zoning Board of Davenport.
Aside from working and involvement in many organizations, she enjoyed doing missionary work in Sitka, Alaska and Concord, North Carolina, traveling around the world, participating in bowling leagues, camping, crocheting, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
Donna is survived by two daughters, Joyce (Dave) Ceurvorst, and Debora (Leonard) Davidson; her grandchildren, Jaclyn Ceurvorst, Robyn Ceurvorst, William (Faris) Chase, and Amanda (Hiroshi) Suda; and her great-grandchildren, Oliver Woody, Cael Ceurvorst, Penelope Chase, and Marigold Chase. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Steven Caldwell; and 7 siblings.
