Donna B. O'Neill

Donna B. O'Neill, 79, of Moline, Illinois, died Sunday, August 27, 2017, in Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport, Iowa.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Moline, with Pastor Flint Miller officiating. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church or the Sewing B's.

The former Donna Bernece Ziegler was born December 31, 1937, in Trenton, Missouri, the daughter of Irving and Golda (Tharp) Ziegler. She graduated from Moline High School in 1955 and married Michael O'Neill on September 12, 1959, in Moline.

She worked for United Airlines as a customer service representative and reservationist at the Quad City Airport and Sato Travel on the Rock Island Arsenal for 36 years, retiring in 1992. Previously, she had worked at Deere & Company.

Donna was an active member of First Baptist Church, where she volunteered with the funeral lunch committee, the Sewing B's, Vacation Bible School, and was Woman of the Year. She also was a member of the Mainliner Club, PTA, and was a Den Mother for her sons' Cub Scout troops.

She enjoyed camping, fishing, and gardening. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Donna, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson.

Donna is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years, Mike; two sons and daughters-in-law, Curt and Lisa O'Neill, and Tim and Trudy O'Neill, all of Moline; five grandchildren, Danny and Danielle, Amy, Kevin and Hailey, Meagan, and Shawn O'Neill; a great-grandson, Bennett; and three nephews, Brent, Chad, and Derk Ziegler. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Ziegler.
