Donald H. McRoberts, 93, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, July 11, 2024, in Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with visitation one hour before the service. A funeral luncheon will follow the service in CityView Room on the lower level of Trimble Pointe. Private burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children's Hospital.

Donald Hobart McRoberts was born October 24, 1930, in Moline, to Merle and Abby (Gum) McRoberts. He graduated from Western Illinois University and received his Master’s Degree from Northern Illinois University. He married Betty Mae Kennelly on October 22, 1954, in Macomb, Illinois. She died January 19, 2023. He served in the US Coast Guard, and was a math teacher at John Deere Middle School in Moline for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He loved working outdoors and had the best looking lawn in the neighborhood. He was an avid reader, and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and fishing.

Don is survived by a son, David McRoberts of Moline; and four grandchildren, Jaron McRoberts, McKenna McRoberts, Leslie Barrett and her husband Ryan, and Jacob McRoberts. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, whom he missed dearly; a son, Michael McRoberts; and a brother, Robert McRoberts.
