Dick Bewley

Richard “Dick” Bewley, 73, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died, Friday, July 07, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island, Illinois.

Services are 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, with Reverend Tim Snart officiating. Visitation is Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center in Coal Valley. Burial will be in the Aledo Cemetery, Aledo, Illinois. Memorials may be given to the church.

Richard Lee Bewley was born, February 25, 1933, in Mercer County, Illinois, the son of Jesse and Velma (Mosley) Bewley. Dick graduated from Reynolds High School, Reynolds, Illinois. He married the former Darlene Smith on November 24, 1951, in Aledo. Dick retired as an Estimator from Johnson Sheet Metal in East Moline, Illinois after more than 30 years with the company. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local 91, he volunteered, was an elder and past treasurer of the building committee at church. He enjoyed watching sports on television, and loved going to his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Dick is survived by his wife, Darlene, three sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Phyllis Bewley of Aledo, Edward Bewley and Trina of East Moline, and Ronnie and Jill Bewley of Seaton, Illinois, four grandchildren, Jesse Bewley of Aledo, Amanda Martyn and her husband, Brian of Monook, Illinois, Adam Bewley of Seaton, and Katie Bewley of Moline, Illinois, a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Bill McKinley of Andalusia, Illinois, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenny and Jan Bewley of Gilbert, Arizona, Daryl and Mary Bewley, and Bill and Arlene Bewley, and sister-in-law, Patsy Bewley, all of Aledo, along with many nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Bob Bewley.
